California Cookout, Inc specializes in Corporate Events, Private Parties, and team sports banquets in the inland empire and southern CA.
Owner, Nathan Bauman brings over 12 years of experience in concessions and food service to the business. Working closely under Bob Phillippe, Nathan participated in the growth of the company throughout its many stages, giving him a broad based industry understanding tempered by a customer centric approach to business development.
Co-owner, Edgar Jaramillo brings over 10 years of entrepreneurial experience to California Cookout, Inc. Devoted to learning and career development, Edgar recently enrolled in the Pasadena Culinary Institute to further his passion for food, making him invaluable in menu and plate development.
History
California Cookout, originally The California Cookout Company, or Sports Concessions Inc. was founded in 1983 by catering visionary Bob Phillippe. The business grew quickly evidenced by a number of large key contracts won in the years to follow. These include operating concessions and catering at Firebird International Raceway Park, concessions & food service at Roadium Open Air Market in Torrance, and concessions and rentals at Bonelli Regional Park, San Dimas, Ca. All of these were long-term contracts and earned the corporation a top ten national ranking in Park Concessions.
In 1994 the Corporation signed a long-term exclusive contract with The State of California for the operation of concessions and catering at Doheny State Beach along with limited operations in Huntington State Beach. Operating from Memorial Day to Labor Day, both beach catering and concession operations built a loyal client following through onsite private parties, corporate events, and offsite catering.
In 2002, the exclusive contract with the state of Ca was forfeited to pursue a new endeavor, the opening of Bobby Baja’s Bar and Grill in Rancho Cucamonga. In operation until December of 2008, the restaurant thrived by offering a unique dining experience and atmosphere, along with catering services that immediately became a regional favorite.
After being met head on with unforeseen challenges and an unstable restaurant industry outlook, we have reverted to our original passion and roots in catering, and again, California Cookout, Inc. is thriving.
